| STS Technical Services is actively seeking Supplier Quality Engineers to join our client's team in Flint, Michigan. This position plays a key role in ensuring supplier manufacturing quality, resolving issues, and providing technical support across the lifecycle of assigned commodities.Job Summary The main function of a Supplier Quality Engineer is to serve as the technical liaison between purchasing, product engineering, internal manufacturing, and external suppliers. Responsibilities include resolving supplier manufacturing issues, implementing advanced quality planning systems, and supporting suppliers through launch and production.Responsibilities

 Assure supplier understanding and compliance with APQP processes and product PPAP submission and approval requirementsReview and approve supplier quality plans for new component parts and assemblies for new vehicle and/or powertrain programsReview supplier manufacturing processes and quality systemsImplement and monitor supplier part qualification and certification processesDetermine root cause of supplier manufacturing problems and implement timely, effective, and efficient quality resolutionsImprove quality performance of suppliers by conducting onsite workshops at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing a robust quality system, or other technical support as requiredProvide technical assistance during supplier launch, change-over, and ongoing production activities
 
  Education & Experience
 Strong knowledge of automotive interior, exterior, body, chassis, electrical, or powertrain quality, manufacturing, and engineering functionsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing Quality processesKnowledge of Manufacturing and Tool Engineering processesKnowledge of Quality Systems Planning (APQP), including PPAPAbility to perform statistical problem solving (Red X, DFSS, DMAIC)Extensive experience and knowledge of assigned commodities/productsHighly motivated with demonstrated leadership capabilityProficient in print reading and interpretation, part measurement, gage design, and functionKnowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, tooling, equipment, and facilitiesKnowledge of probability, statistical quality control, and design of experimentsAbility to investigate quality problems and apply sound technical judgment to develop potential solutionsAbility to manage multiple projects and lead diverse cross-functional teams simultaneouslyHigh-level interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with othersStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to travel up to 50% (daily commutable and overnight combined)
