Position Description

Performs advanced, specialized work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs. Work is performed under minimal supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Works on special projects as assigned. May substitute for supervisor during his/her absence.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Prepares and/or edits surveys using survey software (currently Qualtrics), spreadsheets, and reporting which may be highly technical or specialized in nature.
  • Creates new or modifies existing queries for the purpose of extracting data from a database on request. Prepares complex reports and special projects for university administration, government agencies, and private entities.
  • Completes surveys by the date assigned. Verifies data provided for accuracy. Identifies problems and determines accuracy and relevance of information. Uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
  • Works with customers to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve problems within a reasonable time, or satisfy their expectations, is committed to providing quality products and services.
  • Makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions. Analyzes information and makes correct conclusions. Perceives the impact and implications of decisions and commits to action to accomplish goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knows TTU and departmental missions and functions and operates effectively within them. Familiarity with Banner, Cognos, and SQL. Skilled in prioritizing and coordinating multiple tasks, while meeting project deadlines.

Required Qualifications

High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Institutional Research environment. Experience in Student Banner Systems and Qualtrics or other survey software.
