Georgia State University is seeking an experienced, highly collaborative Human Resources Business Partner focused on University strategic initiatives. The HRBP will serve asHR lead in Human Resources Administration (HRA) providing full-cycle human resources support and serves as the initial point of contact for HR matters supporting new and ongoing positions/personnel actions in critical areas and University Strategic Initiatives.

In addition, this role will provide general guidance to division/college HR Officers on matters related to high priority HR actions. The HR Business Partner develops partnerships across HR Administration to deliver value-added service. The HR Business Partner is a key member of the Central HR team and reports directly to the Sr. Director, HR Business Partners.

A successful incumbent of this position will deliver high-quality experience, provide great internal and external customer support and deliver HR excellence. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: talent acquisition/recruitment, employment processing, class and comp, performance management and employee relations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide day-to-day full life cycle generalist support for high priority HR actions related to the University Strategic Initiatives: Student Success, Research and Innovation, College to Careers, and Identity and Placemaking

* Provide proactive strategic recommendations to University leadership and hiring managers for hiring and ongoing employment support

* Provide consultation and resolution support to departments on Talent Acquisition issues. These duties include facilitating conflict resolution meetings and making recommendations for future process improvements.

* Provide consultation and resolution support to departments on Classification and

Compensation issues. Facilitate discussions with HRA Class and Comp unit leadership

to evaluate unique concerns to sponsor-funded positions. Consult on reclassification, promotion, and other staff compensation changes

* Work closely with management and employees to improve workplace relationships, build engagement, and increase productivity and retention; Provide regular in-depth assessments of potential personnel challenges and root cause analysis

* Develop structured HR processes, including job aids and related documentation, related to staffing high priority positions. Provide guidance and training on such processes to College/Division HR Officers, Business Managers, and others

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resource Administration, or related field and at least five (5) years of Human resources experience, including HR generalist responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Certification as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Major in HR, Business, or related field.

  • Recent HR work experience in a University System of Georgia institution or Georgia government agency.

  • Recent experience conducting employee relations consultation, compensation analysis, and/or recruitment coordination and analysis.
