The Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Duke University is looking for an Admissions Officer to join our team of admissions professionals. Depending on your experience, you may be hired as an Admissions Officer, Senior Admissions Officer, or Assistant Director. In this role, you will help shape the future of Duke by engaging with prospective students and guiding them through the admissions process.

You will represent Duke to students, parents, alumni, and school counselors, evaluate applications, and plan recruitment events. If you enjoy working independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities, and using data to inform decisions, this is an exciting opportunity to make an impact.

Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Valid driver's license (must be presented during hiring process).



Preferred Qualifications



  • Duke graduate preferred.
  • 1-3 years of prior admissions, college counseling, or education experience.
  • Ability to articulate the benefits of a broad-based liberal arts and science and engineering education.



Other Requirements



  • Position requires weekends and extended hours during peak seasons (fall and January-April).
  • Travel 2-4 weeks annually.
  • Strict confidentiality and good judgment required.

  • Represent Duke University at high schools, college fairs, and events.
  • Evaluate applications and participate in the selection process.
  • Plan and execute on-campus and off-campus recruitment events.
  • Conduct information sessions for large and small groups.
  • Collaborate with student volunteers and campus partners.

Anticipated Pay Range:

Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $44,766.00 to USD $88,740.00. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
