 Overview  The Electric Service team seeks an Electric Meter Technician to become part of our team, assisting in operational activities at our Queens facility.
Responsibilities  
Core Responsibilities
 - Duties encompass servicing, testing, and controlling the receipt, storage, and shipment of electric revenue meters and meter equipment, in addition to servicing and reconditioning used meters.
 - Overseeing the reception and storage of Revenue Grade Instrument Transformers, servicing and testing of newly received units, and refurbishing and testing used devices.
 - Supervising the receipt and storage of AMI network communication devices, conducting testing, and performing refurbishment.
 - Prepare revenue-grade meters and devices ready for return to manufacturers for warranty repair or replacement.
 - In addition, control the receipt and shipment of auxiliary devices, which includes testing and troubleshooting items used with meter equipment.
 - Operate company vehicles, rental vehicles, and mechanical equipment to transport materials between different company onsite and offsite locations.
 - Performs quarterly inventories of all electric revenue meters, meter equipment, revenue - grade instrument transformers and AMI network communication devices at Company's onsite and offsite locations.
 - Show proficiency in electrical theory, possess strong mathematical abilities, and exhibit excellent computer and communication skills.
 
 
Qualifications  
Required Education/Experience
 - Associate's Degree Electrical Technology or Program Certificate in Electrical Technology or
 - High School Diploma/GED and Work related Experience in Electrical Technology 2 years work experience.

 - Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
 - Quickly troubleshoots and resolves problems
 - Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills

Licenses and Certifications
 - Driver's License Required
 
 
Physical Demands
 -  Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
 -  Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
 -  Unload materials from delivery vehicles and deliver equipment and materials to various operating facilities
 -  Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
 -  Use hand-eye coordination to adjust controls on equipment
 -  Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
 
 
Additional Physical Demands
 - The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
