Could you be the full-time onsite EHS Advisor - Rail Operations in Los Angeles, CA, US we're looking for?

Your future role

"Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental, health, and safety (EHS) expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll lead efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, champion a culture of safety, and drive continuous improvement in rail operations. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (operations, equipment, and training teams), conduct hazard analyses and safety audits, and much more."

We'll look to you for:




  • Leading all EHS efforts related to transportation and mainline passenger service operations. ,



  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including FRA, FTA, CPUC, OSHA, and EPA. ,



  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring EHS programs, policies, and procedures aligned with 49 CFR 200-299 and industry best practices. ,



  • Conducting hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety audits. ,



  • Collaborating with operations, equipment, and training teams to address safety concerns and integrate EHS into operational planning. ,



  • Investigating incidents, accidents, and near-misses; developing and tracking corrective actions. ,



  • Providing EHS training and guidance to staff and contractors. ,



  • Maintaining records and preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders. ,



  • Participating in emergency response planning and drills. ,



  • Supporting the development of annual EHS scope, schedules, and budgets."

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Transportation, or related field-or equivalent experience. ,



  • Minimum 5 years of transportation experience, with at least 8 years in the railroad industry. ,



  • Minimum 5 years in an EHS role within transportation or rail. ,



  • Deep understanding of 49 CFR 200-299, particularly safety-related sections. ,



  • Strong written and oral communication skills. ,



  • Ability to present to Senior Metrolink Leadership and public stakeholder groups. ,



  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills across departments and labor crafts. ,



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management software. ,



  • Knowledge of new technologies to improve safety, efficiency, and reduce costs. ,



  • Subject matter expertise in railroad safety, hazard analysis, and regulatory compliance.
