Position Title: Machine Operator

Wage: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Fri)

QPS Employment Group is seeking a skilled Machine Operator for one of our valued manufacturing clients in Monroe City, MO. In this role, you'll set up and operate a variety of machinery that shapes and builds essential components used across multiple industries. Whether working with conventional machines or advanced CNC systems, your precision and craftsmanship will help ensure every part meets the highest quality standards.

Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Set up and operate conventional, special-purpose, and NC/CNC machinery such as lathes, mills, grinders, shapers, and drill presses.

- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, manuals, and sketches to determine machining sequences, tolerances, and dimensions.

- Mark, measure, and prepare materials using layout tools for accurate machining.

- Install and align fixtures, cutting tools, and accessories to ensure precise machine operation.

- Calculate machining parameters and enter control settings or CNC commands.

- Monitor machine performance and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality and prevent issues.

- Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments.

- Assemble machined components into finished assemblies, checking for proper alignment and function.

- Conduct test runs and verify setups and programming accuracy.

- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve machining or design challenges.

- Use welding equipment to fabricate or repair metal components as needed.

Machine Operator Requirements:

- 1-3 months of related machining or mechanical work experience.

- High school diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience) preferred.

- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and use precision measurement tools preferred.

- Basic math and spatial reasoning skills preferred.

- Coursework or training in machining, manufacturing technology, or related technical fields preferred.

- Familiarity with CNC programming or editing preferred.

- Welding experience or certification preferred.

- Experience developing or using jigs, fixtures, and shop aids preferred.
