Your Role on the Team

Under general supervision of the HR Generalist 3, the HR and Finance Assistant will provide administrative support in matters related to human resources and finance for Child Care Services, as well as back up support for other Student Affairs departments, as needed. This position will serve as an additional departmental time administrator for Child Care Services with comprehensive bi-weekly (BW) and monthly (MO) payroll and time-reporting in the Time Reporting System (TRS). This position will assist with onboarding new hires and provide administrative coordination for personnel and payroll-related functions. Additionally, this position will be responsible for assisting the Office manager in processing enrollments, monthly attendance calendars and assisting with the invoicing and accounts receivables for the department.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $29.40- $35.32 (Hourly), depending on experience.

Required:

  • Proficient with computer software and systems, such as Microsoft applications like Word, Excel, Teams, One-Drive, Power Point, and Outlook.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and present information in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Skills to perform mathematical calculations for payroll purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to write professional correspondences, procedural and analytical reports.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize assignments and perform a variety of duties with constant interruptions in order to meet competing deadlines and contending requests for service.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to effectively work and communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to handle projects independently in a confidential manner with tact and sensitivity to campus policies.
  • Ability to analyze situations, define problems, and formulate recommendations for action.
  • General knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Ability to set priorities independently to reflect relative importance of job responsibilities.
  • Experience with UC Systems
  • One to three years of experience with a BA/BS in business administration, public administration, or an allied field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of experience with a BA/BS in business administration, public administration, or an allied field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of University personnel/payroll policies and procedures related to compensation, leaves of absence, employee relations, and employee benefits.

Special Conditions:

  • Documentation of absence of active tuberculosis
  • Documentation of MMR and DTAP immunizations as required by Community Care Licensing
  • Livescan for Child Abuse Central Indez
