DESCRIPTION

The Inpatient Patient Transport Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient movement of patients, equipment, and materials throughout the hospital. This position oversees the daily operations of the Patient Transport team, Lift Team, and Call Center staff, ensuring seamless coordination and communication across departments to support patient care and throughput.

The supervisor is responsible for managing workflows, staffing, and service delivery standards, while promoting a culture of safety, compassion, and responsiveness. They will be responsible for hiring, training and retaining a high preforming team. They will lead efforts to optimize transport logistics, reduce delays, and improve patient satisfaction. In addition, the role includes oversight of safe patient handling practices through the Lift Team and ensuring the Call Center operates effectively to manage transport requests and dispatching.

This position requires strong leadership, operational insight, and the ability to collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to support hospital-wide goals related to patient flow, safety, and service excellence.

This position will have rotating shifts to include evenings and weekends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Licensure in relevant patient care / support discipline.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART w/in 6 months of hire date.
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience in healthcare, patient care and/or supervising others in a service-related field.
  • Ability to supervise administrative and / or para-technical team.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable patient care support activities and systems.
  • Knowledge of internal policies, relevant federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to identify compliance risks.
  • Working knowledge of human resources activities including the ability to monitor, evaluate, and document employee performance.
  • Ability to employ critical thinking to analyze issues, develop recommendations, and resolve problems.
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of organization.
  • Working knowledge of business software, EHR systems and relevant specialized clinical applications.
  • Ability to produce reports.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,600 - $127,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $34.29 - $61.02

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
