Business Analyst

Kalman & Company, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, performance driven individual with strong business and information systems experience to work closely with our Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clients. Successful candidates will have excellent communication, quantitative, research, and analytical skills and the ability to principally contribute to several of the largest and most significant studies in Kalman's portfolio. This position will be primarily on-site in Camp Springs, MD. This role is tied to a contract proposal. The proposed salary range is $110K/yr-$140K/year,

Specific Duties:



  • Expertise in requirements gathering, process mapping, and workflow optimization
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, testing, and system deployment
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable business solutions
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across a variety of government stakeholders
  • Develop and implement data driven strategies to optimize operational efficiency in alignment with applicable guidance and policies
  • Conduct technology assessments and provide actional recommendations for Information Technology (IT) enhancements
  • Implement and scale Agile methodologies with clearly defined roles/responsibilities and provide Agile training sessions
  • Develop change management strategies and implement knowledge management tools
  • Develop structured readiness plans with clear objectives, timelines, and success metrics
  • Lead the preparation of briefing materials and other communications packages and present analysis results to program leadership and outside agencies/organizations
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team to meet organizational and project goals
  • Prosses a strong understanding of DHS acquisition processes
  • Address challenges with creative problem solving


Required Education/Qualifications:



  • US Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 8 years of experience as a business analyst or SME, with at least 5 years supporting federal programs in areas such as process optimization, requirements analysis, and system integration
  • Ability to lead detail-oriented tasks and multi-task under minimal supervision
  • Excellent analysis skills and experience working with large data sets
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment


Preferred Education/Qualifications:



  • Experience supporting large-scale DoD or DHS IT or ERP programs
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or equivalent
  • Experience supporting Business Case Analyses (BCAs), Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Economic Analyses (EAs), or other decision analytics studies
