The Metal Panel Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and preparing architectural metal wall panels to meet project specifications. This position plays a key role in ensuring our metal systems are fabricated safely, accurately, and efficiently while upholding Mahaney's reputation for quality craftsmanship.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
- Review daily work assignments with the superintendent and plan fabrication tasks accordingly.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine material needs, layouts, and fabrication sequences.
- Fabricate panels according to precise dimensions and tolerances.
- Measure, mark, and cut aluminum composite panels using CNC routers, panel saws, shears, or other cutting equipment.
- Rout, fold, bend, and form ACM panels using brake presses, routers, and clamping systems.
- Fabricate ACM/MCM metal panels with attention to panel joints and structural performance.
- Assemble panels using fasteners, adhesives, and sealants as specified in fabrication manuals or drawings.
- Inspect fabricated panels for dimensional accuracy, finish quality, and consistency before delivery or installation.
- Maintain fabrication equipment, ensuring blades, bits, and tooling are in proper working condition.
- Keep fabrication areas clean and organized, returning tools and materials to their proper locations.
- Communicate material shortages, equipment issues, or design discrepancies to the superintendent promptly.
What You Bring
Required
- Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing, ideally with ACM or panel systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery (brake press, shear, router, etc.).
- Basic math and measurement skills, including ability to convert fractions and decimals.
- Strong attention to detail, precision, and safety awareness.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience fabricating ACM panels
- Forklift or material handling experience.
- Familiarity with CNC routing and computer-based layout software.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
Environment: Work performed primarily in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to machinery, tools, noise, aluminum dust, and temperature variations. Occasional outdoor or field exposure may be required.
Physical Effort: Regularly required to stand, lift, bend, and use tools or operate machinery. Must be able to lift 75 lbs and maintain steady hand-eye coordination for detailed tasks.
Hours: Full-time position with varying hours based on workload and project schedules. Overtime may be required.
