Data Engineer

Cleveland Brothers, the largest Cat dealer in Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia, and western Maryland, has an immediate opportunity for a high energy and experienced Data Engineer.

The Sr. Data Engineer will be part of an agile execution team, working with business partners, data scientists, and analysts to ensure engineering and data solutions deliver value.

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to join our team at our Murrysville, PA or Harrisburg, PA corporate office.

Position Summary:

We're looking for a highly motivated Data Engineer to design and implement scalable, high-quality data pipelines that follow best practices and governance standards. You'll collaborate across teams to resolve data discrepancies, support the adoption of new capabilities, and respond to ad-hoc data inquiries. Your work will ensure that business users access trusted, well-structured data through a reliable semantic layer within our data platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop cloud-based data solutions that collect, transform, and serve data for modeling and analysis of business challenges and opportunities
• Navigate diverse and disparate data sources to automate insights and enhance business performance
• Build and maintain robust, secure ETL pipelines across a wide range of data products, services, projects, and systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues/incidents while continuously improving existing pipelines
• Collaborate with business and project teams to evaluate opportunities and define the scope of data initiatives
• Ensure reliability and trust in data pipelines by enforcing governance, security, and performance standards

Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with Business or STEM focus (e.g. Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, etc.). Master's degree and/or related equivalent experience preferred.

• 3+ years of experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines in an enterprise environment using industry-standard principles and practices
• 3+ years of advanced experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, including Snowflake, Azure Data Solutions, and Databricks

• 3+ years of experience with data integration tools such as Matillion, Azure Data Factory, Talend, and/or Apache NiFi
• Proficiency in SQL or Python for data exploration, interaction, and solution development
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure
• Experience working with onshore and offshore project/support teams
• Familiarity with handling Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in compliance with relevant data privacy regulations
• Experience collaborating with advanced analytics teams
• Skilled in data visualization and analytics tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
