That's why we're looking for a Recruiting Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support to the firm's recruiting and legal personnel functions. This position reports to the Senior Manager of Associate Recruitment to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience for all candidates and members of the practice.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for...



  • Supporting lateral recruiting for associates, counsel, and partners, including data entry, correspondence, posting jobs, and coordinating logistics across departments
  • Assisting with law student recruiting efforts including managing applicant data, coordinating on-campus and callback interviews, handling outreach events, and processing related expenses
  • Helping to plan and execute the Summer Associate Program, including scheduling, event logistics, and performance tracking
  • Providing administrative support to the legal personnel team, including handling surveys, reports, attorney inquiries, and documentation
  • Collaborating closely with firmwide teams to ensure a consistent and positive recruiting and onboarding experience


The successful candidate will demonstrate...



  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a minimum of one year of relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Zoom; familiarity with ViRecruit, Flo Recruit, 12twenty, and/or Symplicity preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and prioritize different work streams and competing tasks
  • Ability to collaborate, solve problems and troubleshoot
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including the ability to compose, edit and proofread routine business correspondence; ability to provide excellent client service
  • Ability to act as an ambassador to internal and external clients, and interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain tracking for all stages of candidate lifecycle
  • Ability to handle occasional long periods of standing at events, and moving materials and boxes to and from event sites


Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC:

$60,000 - $65,000 per year

The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
