Are you ready to be a vital person on our campus? The University of Wisconsin-Platteville seeks to fulfill aBarista opening. The barista promotes coffee consumption by preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, pastries, and other menu items. This position also assists in the care, cleaning, and stocking of cafe disposables, grab and go food items, and beverages.Wage for this position is$17.00 per hour.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Assists and guides student workers
  • Produces and serves specialty hot and cold beverages according to specifications and/or customer customizations
  • Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food and beverage preparation and associated activities
  • Processes customer transactions by performing cashier duties
  • Performs routine food preparation according to specifications
  • Maintains clean and organized work spaces, coffee machines, and equipment
  • Produces and serves specialty hot and cold beverages according to specifications and/or customer customizations

  • Processes customer transactions by performing cashier duties

  • Maintains clean and organized workspaces, coffee machines, and equipment

  • Adheres to federal, state, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Assists and guides student workers

  • Greets customers, answers questions, and provides basic information regarding food and beverage preparation and associated activities

  • Performs routine food preparation according to specifications

  • Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions as needed

  • Rotates and stocks supplies

  • Monitors & maintains accurate inventory levels

  • Additional duties as assigned

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Previous retail experience
