Summary:

The Information Systems Engineer III leads contractor-related efforts in the translation of business requirements into IT requirements, designs and acquisition packages. Provides in-depth engineering analysis of IT alternatives for the U.S. Army in support of strategic modernization efforts. Provides telecommunications enhancement designs for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Provides interface support to IT end users, DoD IT service provider personnel, USAISEC, and program management offices. Applies knowledge of engineering and scientific principles, computer technologies, and human cognition to design, implement and manage information systems. The information systems engineer may be called upon to design and develop databases, develop system architectures, establish system standards, integrate an information system with varied data sources and networks, and generally to plan, integrate, design, test or operate information systems.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides in-depth engineering analysis of IT alternatives for the U.S. Army in support of strategic modernization efforts
  • Provides telecommunications enhancement designs for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures
  • Provides interface support to IT end users, DoD IT service provider personnel, USAISEC, and program management offices
  • Applies knowledge of engineering and scientific principles, computer technologies, and human cognition to design, implement and manage information systems
  • The information systems engineer may be called upon to design and develop databases, develop system architectures, establish system standards, integrate an information system with varied data sources and networks, and generally to plan, integrate, design, test or operate information systems

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Linux systems, container orchestration, and open-source technologies.
  • Solid client service, time management and leadership skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in electrical, computer, or electronics engineering (or closely related curriculum) from an ABET accredited institution
  • Minimum 10+ years of Information Systems Engineering experience
  • Certified at IAT Level III (CISSP or equivalent)
  • Approved personnel with ability to obtain security clearance
  • Pass an employer background check
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industrial control systems or power metering systems
  • Experience with AWS, Microsoft Windows Server, VMware, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Terraform is preferred

Pay and Benefits

The average salary is $114,000 annually.
