Covia is looking for a dynamic Warehouse Associate/Loader who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Fort Smith, AR location. Hours of work will be 10AM-6PM and can flex during high volume periods to 6AM-6PM. This position typically works Monday - Friday.

The successful incumbent will have the following Key Accountabilities:



  • Perform each and every job in a safe and timely manner. Full adherence to all corporate and site safety policies.
  • Mobile Equipment Operation: Ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner. Ability to perform routine pre-shift equipment checks and report any issues immediately.
  • Organization: Ability to move completed pallets of material to designated storage areas in a manner that conforms with existing procedures so that it can be easily retrieved and maintain product integrity.
  • Maintain an accurate physical inventory of finished goods & consumables.
  • Maintain accurate shipping schedule
  • Job order prep: Working knowledge of Microsoft Software: Word, Excel & SharePoint
  • Job order prep: Ability to work in IFS SMP to find and assign orders.
  • Job order prep: Ability to locate orders in IFS and create manual BOL's, as needed.
  • Load Trucks, Bulk & Containers: Ability to interface with drivers to accurately load customer orders.
  • Load Trucks accurately according to order number and shipping report.
  • Ability to safely load pallets to prevent equipment or product damage.
  • Ability to Maintain product quality standards.
  • Unload all consumables to include: Bags, slipcovers, pallets, chemicals etc.



Miscellaneous Duties:



  • Housekeeping: Ability to keep a work area and completed job clean.
  • Work productively and ability to arrange priorities.


  • Able to train new employees on all functions and responsibilities of a Warehouse Associate/Loader.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:



  • Literacy in English, both written and spoken required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years related work experience required


  • Effective communication skills
  • Patience while teaching
  • Good problem-solving skills.


  • Evaluation abilities to evaluate trainees.
  • Previous experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software such as SAP, Oracle, IFS, etc. will be given preference
  • Demonstrated experience contributing within a team of professionals to deliver against set targets
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying and managing risks
  • Strong organizational skills
