PRIMARY PURPOSE:Oversees Neurodiagnostic technical staff, and or Sleep Center support and technical staff. Manages daily operations under the supervision of the department manager. Performs the most advanced level of Neurodiagnostic, and or Sleep diagnostic procedures to ensure optimal provision of services. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education:

Must have a current healthcare provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification before date of hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:
Current incumbents in the role as of 8/1/2023 must obtain a health care provider BLS for Healthcare Providers certification no later than 11/30/2023. Required Tests for Placement:

Responsibilities: 1. Trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities and that all service areas are staffed per staffing guidelines. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge. 2. Evaluates equipment and supplies to ensure cost effectiveness and that the department needs are met. Makes recommendations as needed. 3. Assists with monitoring annual budgets to ensure the Neurophysiology department has the necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives that have been established for the department. 4. Independently performs routine, complex, and advanced Neurodiagnostic procedures including EEGs, evoked potentials, intra-operative monitoring, nerve conduction studies, and /or polysomnograms to ensure accurate diagnostic tools for physicians. 5. Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, work flows, etc. for the Neurophysiology area and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of the department and PHHS. 6. Trains staff in department specific educational requirements including infection control and hazardous materials. 7. Maintains positive working relationship with staff and physicians to ensure high moral and work satisfaction. Maintains high level of customer satisfaction by responding to patient requests for assistance, information and needs. 8. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of Neurophysiology by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and maintaining certification. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. 9. Coordinates quality management projects to ensure patient satisfaction and high technical standards. 10. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland. 11. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. 12. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding. Job Accountabilities: 1. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction.
