Sanmina Energy (Houston) provides: Product Engineering with an emphasis on energy including very complex electro-mechanical systems; Assembly & Test for full electromechanical assemblies across multiple industries with capability to produce new and legacy high temperature printed circuit board assemblies; and Precision Machining with capabilities across the full material spectrum.

Job Purpose:

The Plant Controller will be the site financial leader responsible for all financial aspects of plant operations, and as a business partner with Plant Management, will have ownership in the overall performance, profitability (P&L) and growth of the Houston operations which specializes in manufacturing precision energy exploration machined parts for various types of energy and renewable energy markets. This role requires a strong leader that can create a positive influence to an efficient modern manufacturing plant and who creates an environment of firm financial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Financial Management




  • Own the financial function, including managing forecasts and budgets, controlling costs, and providing meaningful guidance and perspective to plant management.



  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to all functional areas, including production, purchasing and logistics, materials planning, quality and engineering.



  • Support the development of the management team to deliver excellence in results, execution, quality and cost discipline in a fun and motivating environment that fosters employee growth and development.




Financial Excellence and Oversight




  • Provide and enhance the financial discipline in the plant according to our policies and procedures and with GAAP.



  • Ensure that the financial close is performed and all reporting is complete, accurate and timely.



  • Provide continuous improvement in cost and efficiency by using your knowledge of the manufacturing process, cost drivers, and cost accounting principles.




Business Partnership with Operations




  • Create sophisticated financial analysis which provides insightful, impactful and actionable information to operations leadership.



  • Be the example and instill professional discipline with our business rules into all aspects of the organization.



  • Represent the plant by effectively communicating both upwards and downwards to financial and non-financial stakeholders in the company.




Qualifications




  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable.



  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a Plant Controller role.



  • Excellent organizational and time management skills along with professional verbal and written communication skills.



  • CMA/CPA desirable.
