What to Expect
Tesla is looking for an innovative Electrical Engineer to join our Construction Design team in Austin, TX. The electrical design team is responsible for creating state of the art power distribution systems to support main factory infrastructure as well as manufacturing tool equipment. This position is a full-time role which requires you to be on-site daily. The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to consistently perform at a high level.
What You'll Do
- Complete electrical power distribution system design from scope to development and to construction
- Use National Electric Code to create compliant designs
- Coordination with other disciplines including Design Managers, Manufacturing reps, and other stakeholders
- Prepare IFP/IFC electrical deliverables (single line diagram, panel schedule, grounding drawing, underground conduit drawing, power plan, lighting layout) using REVIT MEP
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
- Perform field-walks and survey with peers and/or construction
- Review equipment submittals and specifications
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial and/or industrial MEP Electrical Design
- Proficiency to prepare and complete electrical deliverables using REVIT MEP
- Experience using NEC to calculate overcurrent protection, conductors, grounding, etc.
- Experience designing distributions at different voltage levels ranging from 120V to 480V
- Strong desire to be a part of a world class team focused on achieving amazing results
- Experience with Lighting level calculations using Elum Tools is a plus
