Join our team at Modine! We are looking for a 2nd shift forklift driver. Hours are 3:00 PM - 1:00 AM, Monday - Thursday. Experience is required.

We offer health insurance benefits on Day 1. PTO is available after 90 days of employment. In addition, on day one, as a fulltime Modine employee, you will be paid eight (8) hours at your regular straight time hourly rate for each of the following holidays:

Position: Top Coater
Department/Sector: Production - Electrofin E-Coat
Reports To: Production Shift Supervisor

Position Purpose:
The Topcoater sprays surfaces of HVAC coils, cabinets, or other customer parts with a protective ultra-violent (UV) topcoat. The employee will process unit/coils through various coating steps and procedures under general supervision. They will operate the overhead crane system in order to transport HVAC system parts or other customer products from the coil hanging area, through the coating process, to the oven cart loading area.

Key Responsibilities

Scope:
The Topcoater reports directly to the Production Shift Supervisor. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Follows assigned work schedule and completes paperwork as required
* Moves coil-carrying carts in and out of topcoat booth as necessary
* Inspects coils prior to topcoating and repairs damaged areas as needed
* Applies masking materials to portions of parts not to be coated
* Mixes paint coatings per manufacturer's specifications and manually operates spray equipment
* Spray coats coils according to accepted practices and specifications; inspects finished product to ensure a quality product
* Executes procedures to properly handle hazardous waste, including the HasStor area
* Maintains inventory records & notifies management when a supply purchase is needed
* Maintains spray booth equipment and structures and/or notifies maintenance personnel when repair is needed
* Follows published work instructions, quality procedures, and safety protocols
* Substitutes for material handlers in other work areas when needed
* Works as a team with other employees, and supervisor, in order to process units/coils on time and with the highest quality
* Cleans work area and equipment
* Wears required company uniform and personal protective equipment
* Masks off units/coils as required prior to coating
* Operates a forklift, necessary, to execute assigned tasks
* Suggests ideas to supervisor for process improvements
* Attaches identifying tags or labels to coils and marks information on create pallets, or other containers
* Completes all required documents
* May train and advise junior workers on correct procedures, safety, industry knowledge, etc.
* Performs daily operational and safety checks of the cranes
* Maintains constant awareness of surroundings, especially coworkers, and follows all safety precautions
* Maintains a clean, neat, and hazard-free work area
* Other duties as assigned by the Lead Person, Shift Supervisor, or Production Manager

Required Education & Qualifications

Qualifications/Education/Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individual must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
