We are pleased to present the following position for your consideration:

Position Overview

Heritage is seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Specialist to ensure that all Heritage facilities in Macon and DeWitt counties are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance. This position plays a key role in supporting a positive environment for our staff and the individuals we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform routine and preventive maintenance across all Heritage facilities.
  2. Conduct regular building inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively.
  3. Assist with general cleaning of the main facility and provide support at off-site locations as needed.
  4. Perform snow and ice removal during inclement weather to maintain safe access to facilities.
  5. Monitor and respond promptly to maintenance requests received via email.
  6. Pick up orders from outside vendors and deliver supplies or other items to Heritage off-site locations.
  7. Work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure facilities comply with OSHA, CARF, and other regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. 1-3 years of experience or training in facilities maintenance or a related field.
  3. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance required.

Preferred Experience

  1. Knowledge and hands-on experience in general handyman tasks like painting, plumbing, electrical, and/or HVAC repair.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  2. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to change and uncertainty.
  3. Proactive approach to completing inspections and maintenance tasks.
  4. Competent in using power tools and able to lift 25 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  5. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position involves regular physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Occasional heavy lifting and use of power tools are required.
