Tax Senior / Senior Accountant (Multi-Entity & Family Office Services)
Location: Outside Pittsburgh, PA
Salary: $100k-110k base plus bonus

We are seeking an experienced and analytically driven Tax Senior / Senior Accountant to join the finance and accounting team supporting multiple complex, high-net-worth client structures.
This pivotal role is responsible for delivering high-caliber tax compliance, accounting, and advisory services. The ideal candidate is an AI-forward professional eager to leverage emerging technologies to enhance accuracy, automation, and insight in tax and accounting workflows.

Responsibilities:
Tax Services & Compliance
  • Prepare, review, and process income tax estimates, extensions, and complex returns for a diverse client portfolio, including high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, trusts, and private foundations.
  • Maintain and reconcile detailed investment tax basis schedules.
  • Research and resolve federal and state tax notices and support annual tax planning and strategy initiatives.
  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of various statutory requirements, including 1099s, state withholding, and other required annual reports.
Accounting & Reconciliation
  • Reconcile tax reporting documents (e.g., K-1s, brokerage statements, business transactions) to the general ledgers and post necessary adjustments.
  • Ensure accuracy of entity-level reconciliations and cross-system consistency between accounting and tax software.
  • Apply knowledge of trust, foundation, and complex partnership accounting practices.
Client & Advisory Support
  • Act as a trusted resource, providing timely and professional responses to ad-hoc inquiries and requests from clients and affiliated family members.
  • Assist the team in meeting the financial and administrative needs of family members, occasionally supporting tax education sessions.
Qualifications
  • Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of experience in Public Accounting is required. Experience in the Family Office or Wealth Management industry is a plus.
  • Specialty: Expertise in one or more of the following tax specialties: high-net-worth individuals, investment partnerships, trusts, and/or private foundations/non-profits.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or MBA is highly preferred.
  • Technology Proficiency:
    • AI-Forward: A self-starter who is proficient in technology and driven to utilize new software for process improvement and automation.
    • Familiarity with various tax technology tools (e.g., automated data extraction, compliance software).
    • Knowledge of data visualization or data preparation tools (such as Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
    • Proficiency with large general ledger (GL) systems and intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.


Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
