Position Overview

This part-time role (37.5 hours per biweekly pay period, rotating 3-shift/2-shift schedule) provides direct resident care in a long-term care setting. The position supports residents with activities of daily living, mobility, nutrition, and comfort needs while maintaining safety, dignity, and a high standard of care. The Nursing Assistant documents all care provided in accordance with established protocols and promptly reports changes in resident status to supervising nursing staff.

Job Responsibilities




  • Provide activities of daily living support as outlined in the plan of care, including hygiene, grooming, dressing, toileting, incontinence care, turning and positioning, skin care, and related tasks.



  • Maintain a safe and clean resident environment by responding promptly to call lights and alarms, ensuring safety equipment is used appropriately, and following established procedures for fall and behavior prevention.



  • Support residents' nutritional needs through meal delivery, tray preparation, assistance with feeding, use of adaptive equipment, and honoring resident preferences.



  • Assist with rehabilitative and restorative care, including range of motion, ambulation, transfers, proper body alignment, and use of assistive devices.



  • Document all care and observations accurately and in compliance with protocol.



  • Report residents' rights concerns, refusals, and changes in physical, emotional, or psychosocial status to the Charge Nurse or Supervising Nurse in a timely manner.



  • Follow safety procedures related to occupational exposure, recognizing that tasks may involve contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.




Job Requirements




  • Current NYS Nursing Assistant Certification.



  • Current BLS certification (AHA).



  • At least one year of long-term care or CNA experience.



  • Must have been licensed for a minimum of one year.



  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with resident care, including lifting, transferring, and prolonged standing.



  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.



  • Ability to follow established protocols and maintain resident confidentiality.




Education




  • High School Diploma or GED required.




Work Experience




  • Minimum one year of experience in long-term care or in a CNA role.
