Genesis10 is seeking an Accountant for a 12-month contract position with a financial services client located in Milwaukee, WI. This is a remote opportunity. Compensation: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour, W2, depending on skill and experience level. Summary: The Accountant will support transactional accounting activities for our client. This role involves voucher processing, journal entries, commission processing, monthly reconciliations, payroll support, and 1099 preparation. The position also includes training new contractors and maintaining strong relationships with assigned offices. This is a long-term role requiring a commitment of at least one year, with training typically taking 2+ months. Responsibilities: Perform transactional accounting responsibilities for assigned field offices. Process vouchers and enter journal entries in JD Edwards. Support monthly period closing activities, including reconciliations. Process commission payments accurately and on time. Assist with payroll activities and 1099 processing. Train new contractors on accounting processes and systems. Maintain professional communication with NM field offices and support office-specific accounting needs. Manage multiple priorities and tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Participate in team projects related to accounting operations and process improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Strong understanding of accounting principles, including the ability to prepare journal entries (credits/debits). Proficiency with Excel (ability to accurately maintain and manipulate worksheets). Proficiency with Outlook for email and calendaring. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Professional written and verbal communication skills, including proper grammar. Technology-savvy and comfortable working in modern accounting systems. Nice to Have: Experience with JD Edwards. Experience supporting field offices or distributed teams.
