Position Summary The Department of Microbiology and Immunology is looking to hire Technician B to work in the laboratory of Dr. Uttiya Basu, a dynamic interactive laboratory studying RNA and DNA processing mechanisms in the immune system. The candidate will be technical support staff for the Principal Investigator and other lab investigators, as needed. A technician position is available in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology to in a dynamic interactive laboratory studying RNA and DNA diversity in the immune system. Duties include maintaining mouse colonies for the laboratory, working with laboratory personnel to process mouse and cell line samples for immunological assays, cell culture, and molecular biology techniques including transcriptome profiling, and participating in cutting edge research. In addition to mouse colony record keeping and experimental support, other duties are lab organization, reagent preparation and reagent ordering. Qualified applicants for this position will have a BS or MS degree in biology, or related science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Some experience in maintaining animal colonies or other lab research will be considered as positive. Most work will be conducted during regular business hours however due to the nature of this research some flexibility is possible/desired.
