INVISTA is looking for an Instrument & Electrical Technician to join our maintenance team at our Longview, TX, plant. Our Team The Maintenance team is responsible for the support and customer focus towards a stable and reliable operation. This position will report to our Maintenance Supervisor. It is vital for this position to be a team player with a team focus, being respectful and applying principled entrepreneurship to all tasks. What You Will Do Operate proficiently as a journeyman at an Industrial Instrumentation & Electrical level. Conduct standard diagnostics for systems such as 24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC, and 5KVAC, including DC motor controls and their associated motors. Troubleshoot and repair Electrical and Instrumentation mechanisms (e.g., limit/selector switches, solenoids, and industrial instruments), as well as resolve issues with site lighting, transformers, feeder cables, electronic temperature controllers, and electrical tracing systems. Advanced programs focused on maintenance predicated on equipment condition. Perform intricate procedures for Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) activities. Repair electrical and instrumental systems and restore them to perform their intended function Execute Calibration/Function tests on both electrical components and process-related instrumentation. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Experience working as a journeyman as an Electrical and/or Instrumentation Technician in an industrial work environment Experience in Instrumentation Calibration and Troubleshooting Experience in 5KV switchgear Experience with 480-volt motor control centers Experience with Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drives and motors Experience in print reading for the Electrical and Instrumentation Discipline Experience reading, understanding, developing, and troubleshooting logic (Relay, PLC, Function Block, Cause and Effect, SAMA, Script, etc.) This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship What Will Put You Ahead Associate's degree or higher in instrumentation, electrical technology, or similar certification Process Analyzer experience - Maxum 2 GC's, Optichrom advance GC's, Wobbe BTU analyzer, Servomex o2's and LEL analyzers, GC portal and APC Experience working with PSM Compliance programs Control Systems experience - Delta V DCS, Triconix SIS, PLC's 5 years of experience as an Electrical and/or Instrumentation Technician in the Petro/Chem Industry Experience and detailed knowledge of the current NFPA 70 National Electric Code, with particular attention to wiring methods in Hazardous Locations Physical Requirements Lifting requirements up to 50 lbs. Walking distances of up to a mile Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, ladders on vessels and columns, ladders associated with scaffolds up to 215 feet Must be able to work in confined spaces 80% of work is performed in an outside petrochemical manufacturing environment Ability to work in hot, cold, and inclement climate conditions. Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts from 6:45 am- 5:15 pm with a rotating on-call schedule within the I&E department This role is subject to a pre-hire medical test.
