Millwright

A Day in the Life:

The Millwright is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the grain elevator facility in Destrehan, LA, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and instruments. This role is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.

Position Details:

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm with overtime

Rate of pay: $39.18 an hour

What You'll Be Doing:

• Preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, part replacement of plant equipment
• Welding and cutting using a torch: tig, mig, and stick on piping and structural
• Rigging and using cables and slings
• Sheet metal layouts
• Assembly and installation of bearings on shafts
• Alignment of motors and gearboxes
• Parts lubrication and other maintenance tasks
• Regular inspections of grain equipment

Minimum Qualifications:

• TWIC card or ability to obtain TWIC card, required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Millwright/Mechanic experience
• Welding and cutting using a torch
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Associate degree and/or technical certification
• Experience aligning motors and gearboxes
