Description

We're looking for a Consumer Loan Servicing Specialist 1 who is passionate about delivering exceptional service and ensuring a smooth lending experience for our members. In this role, you'll provide prompt, courteous, and thorough support to members and internal partners, leveraging your knowledge of lending practices, systems, and compliance requirements to resolve both routine and complex loan servicing needs.



What You'll Do

  • Process loan payment corrections, modifications, payoffs, and account maintenance accurately and on time.
  • Respond to member inquiries with professionalism and ownership, ensuring lasting satisfaction.
  • Monitor servicing workflows, priority queues, and ServiceNow requests for timely resolution.
  • Identify and resolve process issues during system updates to maintain seamless operations.
  • Support team members and foster a collaborative, positive department culture.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (BSA, OFAC, USA Patriot Act, CIP).
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold Summit's reputation for excellent service.



Capability Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one years' combined experience in at least two of the following areas: financial environment, consumer lending, retail, or business/customer service setting.
  • Proven proficiency in verbal, listening, written, and interpersonal communication, with ability to discuss and resolve complex situations effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Skill in prioritizing multiple, competing responsibilities and performing detailed work under deadlines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of credit union products, services, and consumer lending operations.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team environment, applying sound judgement in decision-making.
  • Experience with investigating and resolving member problems using strong analytical and member service approaches.
  • Basic knowledge of consumer lending regulations, policies, and bylaws impacting operational responsibilities.
  • Ability to attain a Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number.
  • Familiarity with office technology including PC, printer, copier, fax, 10-key calculator, telephone, and related software.

  • Physical Demands of Position: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to sit, stand and walk, use hands and fingers. The employee occasionally must reach above and below shoulder level, and lift/push/pull and /or carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Environmental/Working Conditions: Works in a typical administrative setting with climate control and appropriate lighting. Travel to branches requires exposure to outdoor and traffic conditions.
