DESCRIPTION

Under close supervision, the Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in completing medication orders and the preparation of medications for patient use according to established procedures; assists in the distribution of medications which may include bedside delivery and mail order procedures; performs computer order entry, record keeping, ordering, and billing functions; maintains inventory levels; supports clinical patient outreach/Medication Therapy Management services; and will perform other assigned operational and administrative duties as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.
  • Ability to manage assigned workload within deadlines.
  • Computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
  • Detail and organizational skills to sort, file and retrieve information.
  • Ability to manage assigned workload within deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed work team environment and function effectively in a high-volume, multiple demand environment.
  • Have excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing and be able to articulate complex ideas for all levels of audiences.
  • Ability to be a self-starter who is accountable and requires minimal direction and supervision; a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a large, complex organization.
  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment and accountability.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in a Community Pharmacy setting.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $51,177 - $63,705 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $24.51 - $30.51

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
