DESCRIPTION

Responsible for the supervision of Neurophysiology technicians (EEG, EMG, and IONM) and the technical operations at UC San Diego Health System. This includes outpatient EEG and EMG lab services, inpatient EEG services to support Neuro Critical Care services at three medical centers and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in La Jolla.

Establishes the work schedules for each technician, sets and implements standards for staff education and performance, provides feedback to employees on their performance and resolves any concerns from technologists and implements corrective action when necessary. Collaboration with our Neurophysiology Physician Medical Directors. Responsible for program development, quality improvement, adherence to regulatory standards, human resource management. Completes all training and orientation of new clinical staff. Coordinates staffing between sites to optimize utilization of available FTEs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Graduate from a two-year Neurodiagnostic technology training program, accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Registered in a Neurodiagnostics modality required, ABRET certification.

  • Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience in Neurophysiology services oversight.

  • Experience and demonstrated subject matter knowledge of relevant Neurodiagnostic services.

  • Ability to apply principles to procedures in an acute care setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in supporting Intraoperative Neuromonitoring services and/or Epilepsy Monitoring Unit experience.
  • Inpatient and outpatient experience.
  • Experience in tertiary care and or Academic Medical Centers.
  • Specialized ABRET certification in one or more modalities.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $108,100 - $204,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $51.77 - $98.13

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
