A Brief Overview
Painters work under general supervision on both interior and exterior surfaces of the building and apply paint, hang wallpaper, clean and/or remove old paint.

What you will do
Applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures: Reads work order or receives instructions from supervisor regarding painting.
Smooths surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool, and removes old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blowtorch to prepare surfaces for painting.
Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, drywall, or other filler, using caulking gun and putty knife to include larger repairs within ten square feet.
Removes fixtures, such as pictures and electric switch covers, from walls prior to painting, using screwdriver.
Spreads drop cloths over floors and room furnishings, and covers surfaces, such as baseboards, door frames, and windows with masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting.
Cleans up areas when all painting is completed.
Paints surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, aerosol or paint rollers.
Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects. Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to match repaired item.
Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level.
Hangs wallpaper and fabrics, as requested.
May require lead-based paint certification.
Sets up containment barrier for certain applications.
Upholds all company policies, goals, and values.
This position requires driving for the Company using either 1) a Company vehicle, at any frequency from Rarely to Constantly; or, 2) a Personal or Rental vehicle to conduct Company business more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent Required or
1-3 years previous experience in the building maintenance field, preferably as a painter. Required
Ability to lift, pull, push up to 40 pounds
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team with minimal supervision.
Requires a detail oriented, independent thinker who can be a part of a team and demonstrates strong attention to detail.
Reliable and dependable attendance and punctuality are essential for this position.
DL NUMBER - Driver's License, Valid and in State Required
May require lead-based paint certification.

Compensation
