The Business Improvement and Cost Recovery Specialist drives productivity process improvements and ensures adherence to the North America surcharge process through data analysis and reporting. The role focuses on real-time monitoring of productivity targets and cross-functional surcharge resolution.

Key responsibilities include leading the development and enhancement of reporting tools to track progress across Americas sub-regions, supporting surcharge process execution, and conducting research and substantiation to resolve historical surcharges as directed by the Director, Business Management & Margin Enhancement.

The individual will be people-oriented, analytically sound, and passionate about improving business performance as well as a highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and analytical skills who is capable of rapidly learning, handling change, and influencing stakeholders at every level of the organization.

This role will work closely with the Supply Chain and Operations Productivity Sub-Region Leads, the Margin Enhancement Director, Sub-Region Controllers, the Productivity manager and the Sub-Region Pricing Managers. This role must interface and influence the following functions: Sub-Region Business/KPI Teams, Digital Technology, Business Intelligence, Pricing Managers, Business Managers, Commercial Managers and BDS Analytics.

Reports to the Director, Americas Business Management & Margin Enhancement.

Principal Accountabilities:

Business Improvement:

  • Identify and lead continuous improvement projects focused on commercial productivity for Gen Gas assets across all regions, including automated reporting development.
  • Collaborate with the Central Productivity team to source ideas, manage resources, and complete projects.
  • Define requirements and review enhancements for reporting tools (QlikView, Qlik Sense, Power BI, or equivalents).
  • Perform data analysis and support Productivity Operations/Supply Chain Leads with actionable insights, trend identification, and improvement measurement.
  • Lead cross sub-region replication efforts and develop additional Orchestra variables (filterable in Qlik Sense) to leverage global projects and benefits.

Cost Recovery:

  • Validate surcharges in the Surcharge Management tool for completeness, proper review, and compliance with policy.
  • Investigate, research, and resolve product surcharges and Force Majeure unit price adjustments in collaboration with Pricing Manager, Sub-Region Controllers, and Business Managers.
  • Own the Surcharge Management Tool, working with the commercial enablement data support team for updates and enhancements.
  • Define requirements and review enhancements for reporting tools (QlikView, Qlik Sense, Power BI, or equivalents).
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls testing requirements for the surcharge process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Multi-disciplinary business background, including commercial and/or financial experience.
  • Familiarity with North American Industrial Gas business or similar industries with comparable complexities and structure.
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Qlik Sense, QlikView, and SharePoint (preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge of data processing, data visualization, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with influential leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to implement change management initiatives effectively.
  • Collaborative and customer-focused mentality.
