Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Patrol Specialist in Edinburgh, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. This role also requires driving as part of your patrol duties. You will provide outstanding customer service, clear communication, and contribute to a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, utilizing training and protocols specific to an armed patrol role.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Maintain a visible presence at the location to help to deter potential threats and address concerns as they arise.
  • Monitor access points and verify credentials of individuals entering restricted areas, consistent with government facility requirements.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with other Allied Universal personnel and local authorities as needed to address security-related situations.
  • Remain alert and prepared to respond to emergencies or alarms, utilizing appropriate response procedures for an armed post.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid concealed carry weapons permit is required.
  • At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
