In the role of Transmission Line EIT/Designer, you will be responsible for:
* Conducting analyses to develop overhead and underground transmission line design options or recommendations and assisting in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include PLS-CADD models, engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and technical specifications).
* Performing routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard transmission line design techniques and procedures, including structure loading, conductor sag/tension calculations, and clearance checks.
* Completing projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables, ensuring compliance with NESC, ASCE, and client standards.
* Working independently on small transmission line projects or assisting more-senior engineers/professionals on larger, complex projects.
* Collaborating with Project Engineers, other Engineers-In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed to deliver high-quality designs.
* Performing other transmission line engineering-related duties as needed, including field data collection and construction support.

Preferred Qualifications
* Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
* Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
* Familiarity with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, or similar transmission line design software.
* Knowledge of industry codes and standards (NESC, ASCE, IEEE).
* Internship or coursework related to power transmission systems.

* Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
