Mead & Hunt is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Building Engineering team as a Plumbing Engineer. This exciting opportunity is available at any of the following office locations: Milwaukee, WI; Madison, WI; Denver, CO; Tampa, FL; Chicago, IL; Portland, OR; Sacramento, CA; San Diego, CA; Scottsdale, AZ; Dallas, TX; and, Bloomington, MN. Additionally, this position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule, requiring at least three days per week onsite at our office - an excellent opportunity to enjoy both in-office collaboration and remote flexibility.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the plumbing design of multiple projects of various sizes.
  • Preparing reports and studies.
  • Selecting, specifying, and estimating costs of plumbing system equipment and fixtures.
  • Performing calculations as required.
  • Conducting periodic construction site inspections.
  • Supervises staff on project teams.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

A valid driver's license and approximately up to 25% travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have all of the following:

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in mechanical or architectural engineering from an accredited college or university
  • At least six years of relevant plumbing engineering experience
  • PE license in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states.

The ideal candidate will have experience in any/all of the following:

  • Leading plumbing design of complex projects including.
    • fire suppression / sprinkler, compressed air / gas, laboratory water / gas and medical gas design.
  • Performing calculations for system layout and sizing.
  • Using Revit to create bid document drawings.
  • Designing systems for Federal Government projects.
  • Plumbing, fire protection and building codes.
  • CPD certification from ASPE is preferred.
