Gladman is licensed as a 40-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC) providing sub-acute psychiatric treatment to adults 18 and older.

Full Time | Monday-Friday | Hours: 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Expected starting wage is $21.78. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Transportation Worker is responsible for transporting of clients to off site appointments, as well as other transportation assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS

One (1) year of experience providing direct care to individuals with severe or chronic mental disorders is required. A High School diploma or a G.E.D. equivalent and a valid Class C California Drivers License and insurability are required. Must attain Class 'B' licensure within sixty (60) days of the date of hire. Necessary skills include the ability to work independently with limited supervision. The ability to read, write and speak English is crucial. Experience working with severely and persistently mentally ill adults is preferred. Applicant must be finger printed and receive clearance from Criminal Justice Department.

  • Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures.
  • Performs the following transportation duties:
  • Coordinates and schedules client transportation, as directed.
  • Prepares a master schedule for all client transportation needs each week, as directed.
  • Transports clients to scheduled appointments and outings.
  • Documents client appointments, behavior and any pertinent interactions in the medical record.
  • Monitors clients during transportation.
  • Conduct vehicle safety check before each use.
  • Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with clients and acts as a role model in maintaining a hopeful and positive attitude in problem-solving and coping with the disabilities associated with mental illness.
  • Performs the following nursing duties, as directed:
  • Protects clients from behavior which could damage their self esteem and/or the facilities' relationship with other agencies.
  • When assigned to a nursing station, performs the duties of a Mental Health Worker.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Professional Assault Response Training (PART) principles and uses PART concepts to manage aggressive behavior.
