Join our dynamic strategy team as an intern at one of the nation's leading public academic health systems. UVA Health is seeking a highly motivated Strategy Intern for a one-year program within our System Strategy Office. This internship role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in healthcare strategy and implementation while contributing to impactful projects that shape the future of healthcare delivery. Interns will be integral team members, attending meetings, managing multiple projects, and developing skills crucial for success in the healthcare industry. The position will benefit from close collaboration with the entire strategy team and will be intimately involved in an extensive range of high impact projects.
In this role, the incumbent can expect to: - Conduct secondary and primary research to uncover actionable insights for strategic decision-making - Analyze and monitor healthcare trends, competitors, and market dynamics to develop comprehensive analyses - Transform research findings into compelling and meaningful overviews for leadership - Collaborate on strategic briefs to guide cross-functional teams in delivering impactful initiatives - Assist in the development and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) for various departments and programs - Support the planning and coordination of strategic projects and programmatic events - Contribute to the preparation of presentations and reports for executive leadership Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate experience and skills including but not limited to: - Currently enrolled and/or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in healthcare management, business administration, public health, or related field - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities - Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - Demonstrated interest in healthcare strategy and operations
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Bachelor's Degree and participant in an accredited Master's Degree program. Experience: No experience required; relevant work experience healthcare or public health preferred. Licensure: None. PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
