Together, we're seeking a dynamic Director of Human Resources & Organizational Development to join their Executive Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's culture, talent strategy, and long-term growth. This is an incredible opportunity for an experienced HR leader to make a meaningful impact within a mission-driven, collaborative, and growth-oriented healthcare organization.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Human Resources & Organizational Development is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and serves as the strategic and operational leader for all aspects of Human Resources. This role oversees a talented HR team supporting multiple business units across the organization and the ambulatory surgery center. The Director partners closely with leaders to develop and execute people strategies that foster organizational excellence, engagement, and a culture aligned with our mission and values. This leader will design sustainable systems, develop talent, ensure compliance, and curate a high-trust workplace that enables our clinicians and staff to deliver exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a core member of the Executive Leadership Team, contributing to organizational strategy, planning, and decision-making.
  • Lead organizational development initiatives that strengthen culture, improve the team member experience, and support change management efforts.
  • Conduct workforce planning to meet current and future staffing needs aligned with growth.
  • Lead and mentor an HR team that provides consultative support to multiple clinical, administrative, and operational departments.
  • Develop strong partnerships with leaders and managers to guide performance management.
  • Oversee HR systems, workflows, policies, and data management to ensure efficiency and integrity.
  • Design and implement training, leadership development, and staff education programs.
  • Build internal capabilities through coaching, performance planning, and succession planning frameworks.
  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment strategies, ensuring the attraction, hiring, and retention of high-performing team members and clinical talent.
  • Implement competitive and equitable compensation strategies in partnership with executive leadership.
  • Drive retention efforts through onboarding optimization, engagement programs, career development pathways, and workforce analytics.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and healthcare-specific regulations.
  • Maintain and update HR and organizational policies, ensuring alignment with legal standards and operational needs.
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for employment-related risk management.
  • Oversee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and wellness initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Sr. Benefits Coordinator to manage FMLA, ADA, and other leave processes with accuracy and compassion.
  • Work closely with the CFO and Sr. Benefits Coordinator to provide leadership and oversight of the organization's self-funded health plan, working closely with brokers and third-party administrators to optimize plan performance, cost, and team member experience.
Job Requirements

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related degree preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant professional experience and training will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably within healthcare or another regulated industry
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CEBS, or related professional certification desirable
  • Demonstrated experience leading HR teams and functioning as a strategic partner to senior leaders
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance best practices
  • Experience managing or overseeing a self-funded insurance environment
  • Proven success designing and executing strategic HR and organizational development initiatives
Compensation: $120,000 - $180,000/yr plus bonus
