Our landfill renewable natural gas (RNG) facility at Arrowhead Landfill captures landfill gas and converts it into pipeline-quality renewable fuel, supporting both environmental compliance and community energy needs.

Position Summary

The Plant Manager will oversee daily operations of the landfill RNG facility, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, optimizing plant performance, and managing staff and contractors. This role requires strong technical, regulatory, and leadership skills to balance operational efficiency with safety and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the landfill RNG plant, including gas collection, compression, and upgrading systems.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, state solid waste agencies, air quality permits).
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for plant equipment.
  • Monitor gas flow, quality, and emissions to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports, notifications, and stakeholder communications.
  • Lead and develop plant and wellfield staff, contractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate with engineering and environmental teams on system upgrades and expansions.
  • Manage budgets, procurement, and operational cost controls.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, utility partners, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in landfill gas, renewable energy, or industrial plant operations.
  • Strong knowledge of landfill gas collection systems, RNG upgrading technologies, and environmental compliance.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, emissions monitoring, and safety protocols.
