UNC Medical Center is hiring New Grad Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery Unit team! Seeking nursing graduate to start summer 2026 This is a 36 hour/week position, day/night and weekend rotating, with flexible preferred scheduling.This position qualifies for an extensive benefit package. Attaching a resume showing clinical rotations with the hours of those rotations, as well as a cover letter indicating your primary area of clinical interest is strongly encouraged. Our Labor & Delivery Unit is a Level III referral center, which provides care to both normal and high-risk laboring and ante partum patients. Approximately 4,200 babies are born each year at UNC Medical Center. Several thousand patients are also seen in its triage area. In addition, our providers and staff perform numerous high-risk procedures such as vaginal and cerclage placements, amniocentesis and versions as well as various fetal procedures, including IUTs, fetal shunt placements and exit procedures. The unit consists of 15 labor and delivery rooms, 5 triage rooms, a 2-bed recovery room, and 3 operating rooms. Anesthesia coverage is provided 24/7 This opportunity is for a new grad nurse who is currently in their final semester of nursing school or who have graduated from nursing school within the past 12 months of the anticipated start date and have worked as an RN for less than 6 months. It is expected that applicants will have their RN license and be able to practice in North Carolina prior to the first day of employment. New Graduate Nurses are part of the UNC Medical Center Residency Program (NRP). This program is a yearlong program supporting transition from academia to practice for new graduate nurses. The program is layered on top of orientation to provide mentored clinical relationships which support development as a professional nurse. Summary: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
