In the role of Environmental EIT, we'll count on you to:

  • Assist Senior Engineers in environmental remediation projects that include remediation design and implementation.
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
  • Complete projects that have clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
  • Perform administrative duties associated with project management for environmental remediation projects.
  • Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
  • Complete duties requiring field work and travel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • General environmental engineering experience, but will consider entry level candidates, particularly with prior internship experience in a related field.
  • Experience with assisting in design of site civil grading, erosion and sediment controls, preparation of stormwater management plans, and associated calculations.
  • Two to three years of related experience is strongly preferred. Preference will be given to experience directly related to performance of project work in the Industrial Sector.
  • Experience in interfacing with state and local agencies as well as community boards for project planning is beneficial.
  • Candidates must be willing and able to perform other project tasks involving site investigation, evaluation of permitting requirements, evaluation of environmental conditions, and determination.
  • Candidate has initial training in site civil grading design using AutoCAD Civil 3D, with the propensity to continue developing the skill.
  • Computer skills must include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Earth and utilize these software packages for preparations of project reports and calculations.
  • Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic programs such as TR-55/HydroCAD and Storm CAD and working knowledge of other design programs (CAD and GIS) are strongly preferred.
  • Professional Registration (e.g., EIT) is required, and with expectation of career progression to obtain their PE.
  • Preference given to local candidates.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, creative and have strong organizational, inter-personal communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Candidates must be able to function with moderate direction to meet project goals and able to take conceptual direction for project tasks and develop detail plans to complete task.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or closely related Engineering field
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
