As aSr. Power Apps Developer I, you'll support application modernization efforts at the U.S. Department of State.This role is ideal for a hands-on developer with deep expertise in Power Platform-especially Power Apps-who can assess existing legacy tools and deliver modern, maintainable, and scalable solutions.You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs, evaluate current .NET and SharePoint apps, and determine how to best transition or enhance them using low-code/no-code solutions.

What you'll do:



  • Assess & Recommend: Evaluate legacy .NET and SharePoint applications to determine modernization options using Power Platform.
  • Design & Build: Develop end-to-end solutions in Power Apps and Power Automate, leveraging Dataverse and integrating with M365 and other data sources.
  • Prototype Quickly: Create proofs of concept to showcase Power Platform capabilities for solving business challenges.
  • Support & Scale: Assist business users and citizen developers in extending and maintaining apps for long-term success.
  • Document & Train: Produce clear documentation and deliver knowledge transfer sessions for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure Best Practices: Advocate for scalable architecture, intuitive UX, strong data governance, and security compliance in all solutions.


What you'll need to succeed:



  • Active Secret clearance, or higher
  • 5+ years in IT solution development, including 2+ years hands-on with Power Platform (especially Power Apps and Power Automate)
  • Strong understanding of Power Fx, Dataverse schema design, and solution architecture
  • Experience reviewing legacy applications and identifying modernization paths
  • Comfortable integrating APIs, third-party systems, and enterprise data sources
  • Proficiency with M365 tools, Power BI, and basic scripting (PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Skilled at mentoring users on app maintenance and enhancement
  • Required Certifications:

    • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals
    • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate


  • Preferred Certifications:

    • DevOps Engineer Expert (Microsoft)
    • Certified Scrum Developer (Scrum Alliance)




SALARY RANGE: $151,000 - $165,000

The salary range for this position is determined based on qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The final salary offered will be determined based on several factors including:



  • The candidate's professional background and relevant work experience
  • The specific responsibilities of the role and organizational needs
  • Internal equity and alignment with current team compensation
  • This role is also eligible for additional compensation, subject to the terms and policies of MetroStar, which may include:


    • Performance-based bonuses
    • Company-paid training and/or certifications
    • Referral bonuses
