The Opportunity Embry-Riddle is seeking a Senior Environmental Health and Safety Specialist who brings technical depth, professional maturity, and a team-centered mindset to a campus environment that depends on collaboration, responsiveness, and strong relationships. This position serves as one of the university's principal subject-matter experts in environmental compliance and hazardous materials management. It leads complex, high-impact regulatory programs, advises departments across the academic and operational spectrum, and strengthens ERAU's long-term environmental and occupational safety strategy. Beyond the technical work, the role positively influences how safety and environmental stewardship are viewed and practiced across campus. The specialist helps reinforce a culture where people communicate openly, take responsibility for their work environments, support one another, and make decisions grounded in prevention. The ideal candidate is dependable, approachable, and able to connect with people in labs, shops, research areas, classrooms, facilities, and administrative offices. Required Education and Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety, Occupational Safety, Risk Management, or a related field * 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in manufacturing, higher education, or multi-campus settings * Experience with environmental compliance, occupational safety programs, and risk management processes.
