The Daily Process Engineer provides technical services to produce high quality Dyneema fiber and Dyneema LP products in a cost-effective manner while maintaining excellent safety, human relations, and environmental standards. The Daily Process Engineer will operate within the organizational structure to provide process support and improvements for Avient Protective Materials. The person in this role will interact with all staff and local, site, and global colleagues. They will be knowledgeable of the Dyneema processes and product quality requirements for at least one of the major product types. They will analyze process data and provide troubleshooting, reporting, and take action, with supervisor approval, to improve processes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Ensures all is conducted in a safe and effective manner and all applicable procedures and policies are followed. Takes action to correct unsafe acts, systems and procedures. It is the responsibility of each employee to work in a safe and responsible manner in order to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace. Complies with all job-related safety and other training requirements. Abides by Avient Protective Materials procedures/policies regarding security, inclusive of: employee security agreements; use of non-disclosure agreements with outside parties; control of Avient Protective Materials intellectual property limited to a "need to know" only basis; no unauthorized use of cell phones, cameras, computers or APM property; reporting security threats and incidents; proper control of APM property and keys. Participates on project or other teams for Avient Protective Materials expansions or improvements. Participates in facilities, procedural and process improvements to maintain and improve production quality, safety, cost and efficiency. Monitors and analyzes daily production for at least one Avient Protective Materials production area. Analyzes data generated by the LP laboratory and identifies trends. Recognizes production problems, investigates and recommends solutions to correct them. Reports variances as required. Participates in quality investigations as directed. Prepares, reviews, and approves production records including operating procedures, recipes, JSA's, and change requests as required. Interacts with Technicians on a regular basis to ensure effective communication of production and compliance related changes in procedures. Conducts formalized training for operative personnel as necessary. Investigates and prepares reports related to production problems, customer complaints/inquiries, material reconciliation, process deviations, and efficiency and schedule variances. Assists with plans to reduce COGS by continuously improving efficiencies, processing times, reducing labor and material costs, reducing maintenance costs and controlling expense budgets. Conducts trials as required to insure continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and to develop or validate new products at the Greenville site. Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Authorities
Update process recipes. Plan trials for product transfers or process improvements. Make process changes to existing products within the approved process window with supervisor approval. Authorized to approve work permits per details included in DYNPRO SHE DYN 026. If so authorized, employee must maintain necessary refresher training to participate in these activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Under the guidance of the Sr. Process Engineer
- Develops, designs, and communicates manufacturing processes.
- Monitors and revises processes to help generate cost savings and improve the quality and efficiency of product/process.
- Participates in design reviews to improve the ability to manufacture products.
- Responsible for the activities related to the development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies, evaluating process cost, quality, and performing process characterization and optimization studies using designed experiments, problem-solving and decision making tools.
- Identifies and solves issues or problems with equipment/process. Troubleshoots possible causes and coordinates the activities of maintenance, production and other available resources to implement cost effective solutions.
- Provides coordination of new process installation and process changes.
- Other projects/duties as assigned.
Physical/Environ. Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise levels to loud. Scope Manufacturing Plant. Education and Experience
Minimum requirements for this position are a BS/BA in a related technical field OR Associate's degree in related technical field plus 2 years technical experience in a plant or research capacity; or 4 years experience in a technical capacity. Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Must be willing to respond to all types of emergencies and spend overtime hours in monitoring scheduled work when required. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications to include Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook.
Physical Demands
Requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, talking, and listening. Must be able to walk and use hands. Occasionally requires bending, stooping, climbing ladders and stairs. May occasionally be required to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds. Typically work is in a manufacturing environment where noise level is loud. Generally requires the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, hard hat, respiratory protection, etc. Exposure to outside weather conditions is routine. May be exposed to working in extreme heat and humidity. May be exposed on occasion to dust or fumes.
