Construction Cost Control Analyst

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Cost Analyst to join the Walbridge team. In this role you will manage a portfolio of high-volume construction projects and be responsible for processing invoices across a range of small construction projects. You will function as a liaison with the customer, vendors, and project leadership team. This role will require you to support maintenance of various budgeting, change order, cost tracking, analysis, reporting and processing invoices.

You will work from our Allen Park, MI location.

Your Key Responsibilities

Invoicing: Responsible for project invoice processing including invoicing the customer, and collecting, verifying and approving subcontractor and vendor invoices.
• Collaboration: Work with Estimating and Superintendents to verify compliance with contracts and subcontractor budgets.
• Budget Realignment: Make recommendations for realigning project budgets and contingencies based on project scope changes, actual costs, and estimates to complete.
• Reporting: Prepare, coordinate, and deliver project budget and cost presentations to internal management and to the client, as required.
• Monitoring: Monitoring general condition cost against budget.

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A bachelor's degree in construction management, business or related field, or equivalent professional training and experience.
• 2+ years cost accounting and project controls experience.
• Experience with cost control management and analysis.
• Comfortable working with all levels and functions in a constructive fashion to achieve organizational objectives.
• Advanced Excel abilities (Pivot tables, VLookup, or SumIf).
• Effective communication and organizational skills.

Ideally, you'll also have

• Knowledge of Project Control Systems and processes.
• Knowledge of procurement, contracts, and construction management.
• Experience with building cash flows for long duration construction projects.
• Prior experience with CMiC Accounting software.
• Self-motivation as well as self-starting.
• Ability to travel occasionally to other offices and job sites.
