Work Schedule:

70% FTE, variable day shift, Monday - Friday. This position will rotate through all of our clinic and hospital locations: East Madison Hospital, University Hospital, Arborgate Clinic, 1 S Park Street Clinic, Junction Road Clinic and Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, WI.

Step into the heart of Cardiovascular Imaging! As a Cardiovascular Sonographer Resident, you'll join the dynamic UW Health Echo and Vascular Imaging Lab, supporting patients and providers across our locations while gaining hands-on experience during the final semester of your ultrasound program. Ultrasound programs must have a current affiliation agreement and students participating in clinical rotations with UW Health

What You'll Do:

  • Perform cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound studies aligned with your level of training
  • Identify cardiac and vascular pathology, helping physicians deliver accurate diagnoses
  • Stay cool under pressure, using sound judgment and professionalism in fast-paced clinical settings
  • Apply sharp analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate technical and patient-care challenges
  • Build strong connections through effective communication and teamwork with medical and hospital staff

Education:

Enrollment in an ultrasonography program and in good standing Required.

Good standing is defined as:

  • GPA meeting the respective program's good standing definition.
  • Credit completion in alignment with ultrasound programs requirements.
  • Demonstrates satisfactory pace of progress in the academic program toward completing degree, which may include specific timeline achievements for certain milestones.
  • Compliant with all university and departmental regulations, policies, and expectations for student conduct.

Work Experience:

1 year Combined academic and clinical ultrasound experience Required.

Certifications:

Registered in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound (RCS or RDCS and RVT or RVS) within 90 days Required

Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required
