Why This Role Matters

The American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter provides clear, accurate interpreting services to ensure effective communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing employees and participants at Didlake. The Interpreter supports an inclusive workplace by facilitating communication in meetings, training, events, and day-to-day interactions, both in person and through virtual platforms. This role follows professional interpreting standards, maintains confidentiality, and works closely with staff to support reasonable accommodation.

What You Will Do



  • Interpret spoken English into American Sign Language (ASL) and ASL into spoken English in meetings, trainings, orientations, interviews, and other workplace situations.
  • Provide interpreting services in person and remotely using video conferencing technology.
  • Maintain accuracy, neutrality, and professionalism, including in sensitive or confidential situations.
  • Protect the confidentiality of all information in accordance with Didlake policies and professional ethics.
  • Review schedules and assignments and complete required logs or documentation accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and departments to support reasonable accommodation requests.
  • Work effectively with other interpreters, including team interpreting when needed.
  • Assist with the preparation of accessible Didlake trainings and materials.
  • Provide feedback regarding external ASL interpreter agencies as requested.
  • Attend work regularly and follow assigned schedules; hours may include evenings, weekends, or holidays.
  • Complete all required training and participate in meetings or committees as assigned.
