General Administrator - Industrial Construction Site

Pay: $25 hr.

Hours: 1st shift (50 plus hours a week and overtime on weekends as needed)

Location: Childress, TX

Contract: 6 months (could extend)

Job Summary

The General Administrator provides day-to-day administrative support to the Construction Manager and Site Superintendents on an industrial construction project. This role is critical to keeping site operations organized, documented, and running efficiently by handling administrative tasks, coordination, and communication between the field, project controls, vendors, and the client team.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support



  • Provide direct administrative assistance to the Construction Manager and Superintendents.
  • Prepare, format, and distribute correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and site documentation.
  • Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy filing systems for project records.


Site Coordination & Communication



  • Serve as a point of contact for administrative communication between field staff, subcontractors, vendors, and the project office.
  • Coordinate meetings, site visits, and conference calls; prepare agendas and capture meeting notes as required.
  • Assist with onboarding paperwork and badging for site personnel, as needed.


Document Control



  • Track, log, and distribute RFIs, submittals, drawings, and other project documents per project procedures.
  • Ensure current revisions of drawings and documents are available to field teams.
  • Assist with transmittals and document tracking logs.


Reporting & Data Entry



  • Support daily and weekly reporting (manpower reports, progress updates, safety logs, etc.).
  • Enter and update project data in spreadsheets or project management systems.
  • Assist with timekeeping, expense tracking, and administrative portions of cost tracking.


Procurement & Logistics Support



  • Assist with purchase order creation, tracking, and invoice routing for approval.
  • Track delivery documentation, packing slips, and material receipts.
  • Support coordination of site logistics such as office supplies, printing, and basic site needs.


General Site Administration



  • Maintain site calendars, contact lists, and distribution lists.
  • Support compliance with site administrative procedures and client requirements.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support construction operations.


Qualifications & Requirement



  • This job is based 100% at jobsite in Childress, Texas
  • May require extended hours, including early mornings or occasional weekends.
  • Must be able to work in a field office environment with frequent interaction with site personnel.
  • 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in construction, industrial, or engineering environments.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced field environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintain site calendars, contact lists, and distribution lists.
  • Support compliance with site administrative procedures and client requirements.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support construction operations.
  • Experience on industrial construction or EPC project sites.
  • Familiarity with document control systems and construction terminology.
  • Experience supporting construction management or field supervision teams.
