Position Title: Fitter Welder
Wage: $20-$25/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 6:30am-3pm QPS Employment Group is hiring a Fitter Welder for a company in Jefferson, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity. Fitter Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and weld symbols - Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components prior to welding - Perform MIG welding on structural assemblies to specification - Measure, cut, tack, and prepare materials using hand and power tools - Verify part dimensions and alignment using measuring tools - Inspect welds and finished assemblies for quality and accuracy - Operate shop equipment such as grinders, saws, drills, and material handling equipment - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area - Follow all safety, quality, and production standards - Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines Fitter Welder Requirements: - Previous experience as a Welder/Fitter in a structural steel or manufacturing environment - Strong MIG welding and metal fitting skills - Ability to read and understand blueprints and weld symbols - Proficiency with measuring tools (tape measure, square, level, calipers) - High attention to detail and quality workmanship - Dependable attendance and strong work ethic - Preferred Welding certification or ability to pass a weld test - Preferred experience with pre-engineered metal buildings or structural assemblies - Preferred familiarity with production welding and fabrication processes - Fabrication shop environment - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds - Standing, bending, kneeling, and repetitive use of hand and power tools QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
