Organizational Unit Overview
The College of Health and Human Performance ( HHP) at ECU is home to eight academic units (offering over 30-degree options), award winning faculty, world class research labs and a diverse student body. Our wide range of academic programs provide an assortment of academic options for potential and current students. Student experiences inside and outside of the classroom are vast as well. Students in our programs are exposed to many different opportunities and experiences.
Job Duties
Customer Service and Advisor Support 40%
Respond and/or refer day-to-day communications directed to the HHP Advising Center the calls to the appropriate advisor or person (including referrals to campus resources). Maintain a welcoming physical environment and "digital spaces" for learners/students. Schedule appointments for individuals that request to meet with HHP Advisors. Monitor Advising Center resources/supplies and communicate requests for purchases per the HHP Purchasing Request System
Learner Recruitment and Retention Support 30
Develop and distribute advising and learner success information to learners/students, individuals that learners/students have indicated communication is permissible with, faculty, and other stakeholders. Assist with planning and implementation of recruitment and retention events Orientation activities during the summer Month's premier recruitment/retention events (Connect @ECU, Open House)- HHP events and tours. Maintain data related to recruitment and retention of students. Student records Contacts (internal and external to ECU). Serve as HHP College Graduation Recognition Event Coordinator and chair HHP Graduation Recognition Event Committee.
Academic Operations 30%

Enter all unit Course Schedules (all courses, including independent studies and other courses requiring learning contracts with students). Assist with requests for classroom/instructional space (25Live classroom reservations, HHP managed instructional use spaces). Supervises student employees that work in the advising center.

Minimum Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
License or Certification required by statute or regulation

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education

  • Experience in a full-time administrative support role or learner/student services-related position.
  • Experience with ECU Systems (e.g. Banner, 25Live, EcuBic)
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Preferred experience in a college setting, with experience with personnel matters and event planning.
